美國媒體報導，在7月初的時候，騎士球員Tristan Thompson在洛杉磯夜店向勇士球員Draymond Green揮拳。
據了解，兩位球員都在一間夜店參加一個私人派對。Jason McIntyre報導指出，Draymond Green想向Tristan Thompson就總決賽第四場的衝突作出道歉，但Tristan Thompson並不接受。然後Draymond Green便說算了，和自己不是有意的。不過，Tristan Thompson卻向Draymond Green揮了兩拳。

報導指，同時在場的LeBron James和Kevin Durant馬上介入，並阻止事情進一步升級。隨後，LeBron James和Tristan Thompson等人更在不久後離開夜店。

在6月份的NBA總決賽，勇士的Draymond Green和騎士的Tristan Thompson在球場上發生了多次衝突，暫時勇士和騎士兩支球會仍未就事件發表意見或聲明。
