Young Genk goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois claims Chelsea are chasing his signature as a long-term successor to Petr Cech.
But the teenager insists he would spend at least next season back on loan with the Belgian champions if he completes a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.
The Blues have already been heavily linked with a swoop for Genk midfielder Kevin de Bruyne, and 19-year-old Courtois could form part of a double deal.
The keeper, who is under contract until June 2014, believes Chelsea would build his experience by sending him out on loan with a view to him succeeding regular No.1 Cech when he eventually retires.
Successor
"It's wonderful that they (Chelsea) have such confidence in me and see me as the successor of Petr Cech," Courtois told FM Brussel.
"Chelsea has a great sporting level and I can grow at ease for a few years until I reach the first team.
"This will not happen in a year or two, but three, four or five years. I might as well develop myself quietly."
He added: "No matter what happens, I'll play again next season in the Genk jersey.
"Maybe I'll stay two years, it will depend on how I develop here. Then we'll see if I will be lent to an English team."
