Chelsea winger Yuri Zhirkov is adamant no talks have been held between himself and Dinamo Moscow about a move back to the Russian capital.
The versatile left-sided player has struggled to hold down a first-team spot since his move from CSKA Moscow in 2009 and was rumoured to be one of the number of players leaving the club since the appointment of Andre Villas-Boas.
But Zhirkov says that no talks have been held about a possible move away, and he'll fight for his place at Chelsea.
“I haven't talked to anyone from Dinamo,” Zhirkov told Sovetsky Sport.
“It's hard to tell,” he said of a return to Russia.
“On the one hand, I am a player of Chelsea, a club with rich traditions, and I will make everything possible to establish myself there.
“Now there is nothing concrete and there's, actually, nothing to talk about. My situation is not so severe.
“Though, I wouldn't lie, Chelsea is the primary option for me, while Russia is the secondary one.”
The likes of Nicolas Anelka, Didier Drogba and Florent Malouda have all been linked with moves away from Chelsea this summer, how as yet, new man Villas-Boas is yet to make any significant changes to his playing staff.
