Fernando Torres has fired a warning shot to Chelsea's title rivals, saying the Blues are fired up and raring to go for the forthcoming Barclays Premier League season.
Torres struggled in front of goal following his record £50million switch to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January, finding the back of the net just once in 18 appearances.
But he has been buoyed by the Blues' pre-season performances, where the club have won all five games, scored 12 goals and not conceded.
The club have been revitalised since the arrival of Andre Villas-Boas from Porto and Torres is pleased his new boss is trialing different formations in pre-season friendlies.
'Our fitness is very good, we have won all the games we have played and it is only two weeks until the start of the season,' said Torres in the Daily Star.
'The manager has given minutes to everyone and everyone feels they are part of the team. That is important.
'When you have players with quality and players who can play in different positions, you are able to use different formations.
'That is good because depending on the opposition and the scoreline, you have to change the system. It is very good news as it is working very well.'
