【降薪？】 勇士明年夏天能否留下 Klay Thompson？

現時聯盟的薪酬空間很難融納四名明星級球員，而來季勇士將會擁有五名明星球員，其中三人更是去季場均得分超過25分，亦擁有一名 FMVP 在板凳席上，其他球隊的陣容實在難以跟他們相提並論。勇士巨星 Klay Thompson 即將展開他合約最後一年，2019 - 2020 賽季他還會穿上勇士的球衣嗎？Thompson 來季的年薪大約是1900萬美元，如果勇士沒有提前與他續約，他將會在2019年成為無限制的自由球員。

引用The Athletic’s Marcus Thompson has reported that the Warriors and Klay were engaged in contract extension talks a couple of months ago and that Thompson was willing to take a pay cut in his next deal.

引用However, Klay’s father Mychal has been quoted saying his son will wait until 2019 to sign a new contract. Mychal Thompson did say that Klay wants to spend his entire career in Golden State, but it would be smarter for his son to wait until 2019 to sign with the Warriors.

Thompson 於2011年選秀會被勇士以第11順位選中，這七年一直為勇士效力，三奪總冠軍，四次入選明星賽，兩次入選年度最佳陣容。如果他明年夏天成為自由球員勢必引起其他球隊開出頂薪爭奪，至於他個人的意願是怎樣？早前記者 Marcus Thompson 報導指出勇士曾經與他相討續約問題，KT 表示願意在下一筆交易中減薪。然而，他的父親 Mychal 表示他的兒子希望等待 2019年才與勇士簽署一份新合約，因為勇士今年最多只能開出一份5年1.02億美元合約，但是如果他在 2019年簽下新合約，他可以得到一份五年價值1.88億美元合約。可是勇士現時的薪酬空間已經飽和，KD 及 Curry 的薪酬已經佔了球隊一大部份，實在難以為 Thompson 開出薪酬合約，且看勇士來季能否留下這名超級射手。
