There are only 97 vaquita porpoises left in the world. These shy dolphin-like small mammals live in the Northern Gulf of California, Mexico and they’re hardly ever seen - except when they are pulled up to the surface, dead, in illegal gillnets. Experts estimate that if steps aren’t taken to protect them, they could be completely wiped out in just three years ! -Greenpeace
